DART is launching its 18th Annual Poster Contest.
“The Adventures of Riding DART” is the theme for this year’s poster contest according to Julie Theyerl,marketing and public affairs officer for the Delaware Transit Corporation.
“The contest is open to students in grades 6th through 12. They can submit their posters through the schools, through any clubs, or just as individual students,” said Theyerl.
Theyerl says the contest is designed to encourage students to learn more about public transportation and its benefits, as well as offer the chance to see their artwork featured by DART in various advertisements, promotions, and/or displays.
Theyerl has some hints for the students entering the contest.
“It’s really open. It’s very open. It could riding the bus to the mall or the movies, to the beach in the summertime. It could be riding the bus to school….I’m not sure how adventurous that is...but any place our buses go and anything that kids want to do.”
