April begins with gas prices still rising

Delaware Public Media

The spring spike in gas prices continues.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular statewide is now $2.60.

That’s up 4 cents from a week ago and 17 cents over the past two weeks.

And Delawaregasprices.com reports over a there’s only a dozen stations charging $2.52 or less.

AAA says with gasoline inventories dropping, oil prices around $65-per-barrel, and refineries preparing to sell summer blend gasoline prices are likely to keep rising.

And it could surpass the highest price seen all of last year.  It’s currently just 10 cents shy of that mark - $2.70.

The average cost of gas a gallon of regular nationally currently sits at $2.61 – up 7 cents from last week.
