AstraZeneca puts Fairfax campus up for sale

Delaware Public Media

AstraZeneca plans to sell its headquarters in Fairfax, but that doesn’t mean it’s moving.

The pharmaceutical company announced in May it could move out of the Fairfax campus, but said it would remain in the First State.

In a statement, AstraZeneca says it plans to either redesign its current facility, or move to a nearby location in Delaware.

AstraZeneca employs about 2,100 people in Delaware between its Fairfax and Newark campuses, and says it’s committed to keeping its headquarters in the First State.

A decision is expected later this year.
