Big jackpots remain in play this weekend

Nearly $900 million in jackpots are up for grabs this weekend as both the Powerball and Mega Millions prizes keep growing.

No one hit Wednesday night’s winning Powerball numbers – 2, 24, 31, 57 and 66 with a Powerball of 18.  That means the jackpot there is now $288 million for Saturday’s drawing.

The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday night.  With no winner in that game Tuesday and brisk sales this week, the jackpot stands at $540 million.

That’s the third largest Mega Millions prize ever and seventh largest lottery jackpot all-time in the U.S.

Delaware is still waiting for its first Mega Millions jackpot winner. It’s last Powerball winner was in May 2013 when an anonymous ticket holder split a $50 million jackpot.

The odds of matching all 6 numbers in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing are 1 in 258.9 million.  The odds of hitting Powerball Saturday night is 1 in 292.2 million.
