Brengle follows Williams upset with a loss

via WTA website

Dover native Madison Brengle didn’t have a chance to savor her win over Serena Williams very long.

A day after the 26-year-old Brengle stunned the number two player in the world – she was ousted in the quarterfinals of the ASB Tennis Classic in New Zealand.

Brengle fell to Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets 7-5, 6-3.

But Brengle - ranked 72nd in the world before beating Williams this week – was still getting some attention for that upset

Video of Brengle chatting with her coach during a change-over in the Williams match is making the rounds on social media.  It shows her praising Williams serve, joking about her strategy to deal with it and then saying about Williams "I think she is surprised how bad I am.”
