Delaware Public Media

Colonel Dave Walker will soon become second-in-command of the Delaware Air National Guard.

He will be sworn in as Assistant Adjutant General for the Air Guard at a public ceremony this Saturday at 3 p.m. in New Castle.

Walker takes over for Brigadier General Carol Timmons, who moved up to become Delaware’s Adjutant General.

Walker’s military career began in 1989 after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy.  He served on a nuclear-powered attack submarine and eventually taught at his alma mater.

He will oversee training, federal mobilizations and state emergency missions in his new role.

Adj. Gen. Timmons assumes her new role Sunday.
