David Bowie passed away in 2016, but in 2017, The Delaware Contemporary is channeling its inner Ziggy Stardust with a special version of it’s monthly Family Sunday program.

Marketing Director Rebecca Klug said families will create mixed media designs and costumes inspired by Bowie's innovative and rich artistic life.

"David Bowie was someone who so incorporated all of the arts into his life and into his work," Klug said.

The Family Sunday workshop is January 8 at The Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington, which would have been David Bowie’s 70th birthday.

Klug said she expects as many as 200 kids and parents to attend and celebrate the iconic musician's life.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from theDelaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
