Delaware drivers see continued relief at the gas pump

Delaware Public Media

Gas prices in the First State fell again last week, marking a sixth straight week of decline.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular dropped another three cents over the past seven days – from $2.05 to $2.02.

The price at the pump has fallen 23 cents over the past month a half weeks leaving the price 58 cents below the $2.60 Delaware drivers were paying this time last year.

According to Delawaregasprices.com, just over a dozen stations statewide are selling a gallon of regular for $1.90 or less, with four in the Newark-area charging under $1.80

The national average also dropped again last week – down another four cents from $2.21 to $2.17. That’s a 21-cent decline over the past five weeks. It’s also the lowest price drives have seen at this time of year since 2004.
