Delaware drivers watch gas prices continue to fall

Delaware Public Media

It’s another week of declining gas prices around the First State.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in Delaware dropped by a nickel over the past week to $2.37.

That’s nearly a dollar less than what drivers were paying last summer at $3.32.

It’s the fifth straight week of falling gas prices in Delaware – down 29 cents on average during that period. And First State drivers continue to pay less than others across America, where a gallon of regular typically costs $2.60.

Delawaregasprices.com reports Kent County generally has the cheapest prices for a gallon of regular. It says a dozen stations are selling regular at $2.25 or less - with majority of them in the Dover area.

The price of crude oil fell sharply this week and is significantly cheaper than this same time last year.

Federal officials project a steady supply for the near future, with the possibility of new Iranian oil to enter the international market.
