Delaware gas prices dip for a second straight week

Delaware Public Media

First State motorists have a bit better than other drivers across the region.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average cost of a gallon of regular in Delaware dropped another 2 cents over the past seven days – from $2.25 to $2.23.  It’s down 8 cents over the past two weeks.

And Delaware gas prices.com reports nearly a dozen stations across the state are charging $2.13 or less.

Prices here are now the lowest in the region.  Drivers in the Philly-area are paying $2.55.  And in Maryland and South Jersey, the average price sits around $2.30

But First State motorists are still paying 23 more than they were this time a year ago, when the average price was right at $2 a gallon.

AAA maintains gas prices could see-saw or hold steady in the weeks ahead as U.S. crude inventories head down and gasoline inventories likely head up.

The national average for a gallon of regular slipped a penny this week, dropping to $2.34.
