The Delaware National Guard continues to offer its support to relief efforts in Texas as that state cleans up following Hurricane Harvey and the flooding it caused.
30 members of the Guard remain deployed.
A team from the 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron that went to Texas September 2nd remains in Fort Worth assisting in recovery work. The team of flight nurses, aeromedical evacuation technicians, and a health services administrator specializes in conducting medical support missions.
The C-130 aircraft and crew the Delaware Guard sent to Texas August 29th have returned to the First State. During its time there, the crew flew 11 missions - transporting 31 emergency aid personnel, more than 24 tons of cargo, and evacuating 214 people.
And staff officers remains at the National Guard Bureau Joint Operations Center near Washington, D.C. – assisting with communications, operations, intelligence, and public affairs.
The Delaware National Guard says its also preparing to assist with any relief efforts needed should Hurricane Irma strike the U.S. in the coming week.
