DelDOT preps for up to 3" of snow Thursday night

Delaware Public Media

Delaware’s Department of Transportation is preparing up to three inches of snow to start falling on the state as soon as Thursday night.

Crews are out Thursday pretreating roads and bridges with a salt-water mixture called brine.

The brine can help minimize and delay snow and ice accumulation for up to five days.

The National Weather Service says up to 1-to-2 inches could fall up and down the First State by Friday morning.

If you’re worried about your travel route, you can monitor real-time road conditions and track active plowing operations on DelDOT’swebsite and smartphone app.
