DelDOT: Watch for ice, fallen trees tonight

Delaware Public Media

Delaware’s roadways are surprisingly clear following this morning’s snow storm.

But Delaware Department of Transportation spokesman Jim Westhoff said you should be on the lookout for two hazards if you’re driving Thursday evening.

“With these high winds all day there may be some downed trees or other debris in the road,” he said.

The other concern is icy roads as temperatures drop down into the teens overnight.

The ice could last through early tomorrow with temperatures not expected to rise above freezing until after noon in most parts of the state.

But, according to DelDOT, most major roadways should be free of ice.
