Delmarva Power customers to receive credits after Exelon Pepco merger

Delaware Public Media

Delmarva Power customers in Delaware will soon see a credit on their bills, as promised by the Exelon-Pepco Holdings merger.

The amounts that will appear on gas and electric bills are $122.64 and $49.95 respectively and will appear on bills this month into May.

This is the first of several benefits that Pepco -the merged parent company of Delmarva Power - is expected to provide its customers.  Plans also include $2 million in workforce development funding over two years and forgiving debts of low-income families whose accounts have been past due for over three years.

Over the next decade, Delmarva Power customers could see as much as $49 million total in direct benefits.

Exelon and Pepco Holdings merged last month, after three attempts to seek approval from the DC Public Service Commission. Each company brought three smaller entities with them, becoming the largest utility company in the country.
