Dover NASCAR weekend concludes Sunday

NASCAR’s tripleheader weekend in Dover wraps up Sunday afternoon with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series “AAA 400 Drive for Autism.”

Kyle Busch – currently 5th in the points standings – will be on the pole after topping qualifying Friday.

Points leader Martin Truex Jr. will join him on the front row. Truex moved to the top of the standings last week with a third place finish in Charlotte.  He also has two wins this season.

“I’ve got a good season going,  Leading the points after last week is really cool.  I’m definitely excited about it.  Hopefully we can hang on to it for the rest of the season," said Truex Jr..

Truex is also a two-time winner at Dover after taking the checkered flag in last fall’s race on the Monster Mile.

Today’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” gets underway at 1 pm.

In Saturday’s XFINITY Series “One Main Financial 200,” Kyle Larson was the winner.  It’s his third victory this season and first ever at Dover.
