Dover Police have suspect in Capital Green shooting

Dover police have identified a suspect in Friday’s shooting in the Capital Green neighborhood near Legislative Mall.

25 year old Rakim Strickland of Dover is wanted on first-degree attempted murder and five other charges in connection with the shooting – which took place shortly before 2pm Friday between East Water Street and Sussex Avenue. 

A 19 year old man was found shot in the driver’s seat of a gold Dodge Intrepid. He was taken to Kent General hospital, and then flown to Christiana Hospital.  There’s been no update on his condition.

Dover police say they consider Strickland armed and dangerous.  His last known address was 634 River Road in Dover.

Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
