DSU earns bid to post-season hoops tournament

Delaware State may not have earned its trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2005, but the Hornets will play some post-season basketball.

DSU’s run to the MEAC tournament title game has landed the team in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).The Hornets will host Radford of the Big South conference Wednesday night in Dover.

It’s Delaware State's fourth post-season bid overall and first since 2007 when they played in National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and lost in the first round to West Virginia

It is also the first time that the Hornets will host a post-season game.

Delaware State is 18-17 overall this season and coming off an 82-61 loss to Hampton in the MEAC championship game on Saturday.

Radford brings a 21-11 record into Wednesday’s 8pm tip-off at Memorial Hall.
