DSU falls in first round of MEAC tournament

Delaware State Univ.

Delaware State was dismissed quickly from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament in Norfolk, Virginia.

Bethune-Cookman ousted the Hornets Tuesday,  downing DSU 69-62 in the MEAC tourney’s opening round.

Down 10 – 44-34 – in the second half, Del State rallied to tie the game at 50 with just over 5 minutes left.  But Bethune-Cookman responded with a 13-3 run to pull away for good.

Brandon Tabb led the Wildcats with a game-high 21 points. DeVaughn Mallory scored a  the Hornets with 16 points

The Hornets lost four of their last five to finish the season with a 10-22 record.
