Eagles' Super Bowl parade set for Thursday

Delaware Public Media

The celebration of the Eagles first-ever Super Bowl title will last well into the week.

The City of Philadelphia says its parade honoring the Birds will be Thursday, tentatively starting at 11 am.

It will start at Broad and Pattison streets in the South Philadelphia stadium complex and work its way north to the Philadelphia Art Museum.

City officials say more details will be announced Tuesday at 9 am.

The Eagles arrived back in Philadelphia Monday afternoon shortly before 3 pm after winning the championship in Minneapolis Sunday night with a wild 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52.

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was the game’s MVP, throwing for 375 yard and three touchdowns.  He also caught a TD pass.

The Eagles won their first Super Bowl on their third trip to the NFL’s biggest stage.

It’s also the franchise’s NFL championship since 1960 – before the Super Bowl era.
