Delaware’s jobless rate is headed up again.
After holding steady at 4.7 percent in May and June, the jobless rate ticked up - reaching 4.8 percent for July.
That’s half a percent higher than where its stood at the start of the year – and a half a percent higher that the national rate which stands at 4.3 percent.
Delaware is one of 9 states where the unemployment rate is higher than at the end of last year, and one of 20 states where it’s higher than the national average.
Non-seasonally adjusted jobless rates in all of Delaware’s major cities and counties rose slightly in July– except Sussex County, which remained flat.
