Finding the right auto repair shop to fix a car can often be an intimidating, confusing and costly process for some motorists - especially if you’re a woman. ";

Owning and operating a vehicle can be expensive, and the repair costs are rising.  Finding the right auto repair shop to fix a car can often be an intimidating, confusing and costly process for some motorists. That can be especially true for some women according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.

To help women out, AAA Mid-Atlantic is offering a complimentary women’s car care clinic to empower women to maintain a vehicle and keep it running smoother and longer.

Donna Jackson is the retail manager at the Dover Car Care Center and says,

“Our goal is to provide women with the knowledge they need to take the fear and uncertainty out of  the auto repair process by offering a trustworthy, open dialogue.”

The car care clinic will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the AAA Mid-Atlantic Dover Car Care Center on Greentree Drive in Dover.

To participate, call 674-8020 and sign up.

During the event, a AAA master and ASE-certified technician will provide participants with a brief overview on major vehicle systems, car maintenance tips, warning signs, and the basics of service intervals.

Also, during the event, area participants can unwind and socialize with other motorists and learn:

  • How to check tire tread and air pressure regularly and why it’s essential.
  • The magnitude of regular battery checks.
  • How to check the different automotive fluids and when.
  • Braking, steering, and suspension systems overview.
  • The value and difference between wheel alignment checks and wheel balance.
