Gas prices up despite falling demand

First State gas prices were up slightly last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the cost of a gallon of regular rose two cents over the past seven days – from $2.14 to $2.16. 

AAA notes prices moved higher despite the seasonal drop in demand.

And Delaware drivers are now paying almost exactly what they were a year ago when the average price was $2.17.

But there are still some cheap prices to be found. According to Delawaregasprices.com, over a dozens stations in New Castle County have prices at $2.05 or lower.

The national average was down 2 cents last week – from $2.26 to $2.24.
