Gas prices drop for a second straight week

Delaware Public Media

Gas prices in the First State retreated again last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular fell 5 cents over the past seven days – from $2.35 to $2.30.

The price locally has now dropped 10 cents over past two weeks

What AAA calls a “a return to the typical winter season pump price drop” is also reflected at Delawaregasprices.com, which reports just over a half dozen stations are charging $2.18 or less – mainly in Elsmere and Newark.

But prices are much higher than a year ago at this time when the average here in the First State was just $1.78.

The national average also dropped last week – slipping three cents  from $2.34 to $2.31.
