Gas prices fall again in Delaware

Delaware Public Media

First State gas prices were down for a second straight week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the cost of a gallon of regular dropped another five cents over the past 7 days - from to $2.13 to $2.08.  That’s an 8-cent retreat over the past two weeks.

And Delawaregasprices.com says just over a dozen stations – mainly in New Castle County - have prices just under 2 dollars a gallon.

But Delaware drivers are now paying two cents more than they were a year ago when the average price was $2.06.

AAA officials say refinery maintenance, planned and unplanned, is keeping prices from pushing lower, but they do expect the downward trend to continue into November.

The national average was down a penny last week – from $2.22 to $2.21.
