Gas prices slip slightly in First State

Delaware Public Media

Delaware drivers got a bit of a break at the gas pump last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average cost of a gallon of regular in Delaware dropped 5 cents over the past seven days – from $2.30 to $2.25 – putting the price just about back where it was two weeks ago.

And Delawaregasprices.com reports there’s a dozen stations across the state charging $2.16 or less.

But First State motorists are still paying 29 more than they were this time a year ago – when the average price was still just below 2 dollars a gallon.

AAA says gas prices could see-saw or hold steady as U.S. crude inventories head down and gasoline inventories likely head up.

The national average for a gallon of regular sits held steady this week at $2.35.
