Hagley to bring in autumn with hay rides

Hagley Museum and Library

The fall season is fast approaching and for many that means grabbing something hot and pumpkin spiced and finding some seasonal fun.

The Hagley Museum’s annual tractor-toted hay ride is more about history than spooky ghosts and goblins.

Marketing Manager Jessica Eisenbrey said the museum sits what was once the DuPont gunpowder works.

"We call ourselves the most beautiful mile of the Brandywine. They can see the river along the ride. They can see the mill races, the roll mills where they made the gunpowder," she said.

The hay rides are the standard fare, carts pulled by large tractors, with plenty of hay.

Eisenbrey said there will be plenty of crafts and fall related items, as well.

The Hagley hayrack rides are each weekend October 15-30.
