The 2018 edition of the Firefly Music Festival will have a strong hip-hop flavor.
Festival organizer Red Frog Events announced the acts coming to the Woodlands in Dover on the grounds of Dover International Speedway this June, and for the first time two of the events four headliners are rap artists.
Eminem and Kendrick Lamar will top the bill for two of the event’s four day run June 14th through 17th.
Eminem is back in the spotlight with the release of his latest album, Revival, last month.
Kendrick Lamar returns to Firefly for a second time. He just performed at the College Football National Championship Game’s halftime show Monday and is nominated for seven Grammys this year.
The other headliners are The Killers, back at Firefly for a third time, and Arctic Monkeys, appearing for a second time. Other acts coming include ODESZA, Lil Wayne, Jimmy Eat World, alt-J, Portugal. The Man, Foster the People, and MGMT.
And once again the list of nearly 100 artists performing also includes one local act. Amillion The Poet, a Dover based hip-hop/spoken word artist, has the honor for this year – Firefly’s seventh year in Dover.
General Admission and VIP passes for this year’s festival go on sale Friday morning at 10.
