McBride tapped to take over as Senate President Pro Tem

Senate Majority Caucus

Democrats in Delaware’s State Senate have selected a new President Pro Tem.

Sen. David McBride (D-Hawks Nest)  got the nod as Democrats put together their leadership team for the upcoming General Assembly session.

McBride has been in the Senate since 1978 and served as majority leader since 2012.

The President Pro Tem position opened when Republican Anthony Delcollo upset the previous Pro Tem, Patricia Blevins, for the 7th Senate District seat earlier this month.

Democrats also tapped Margaret Rose Henry (D-Wilmington) to be Senate Majority Leader and Nicole Poore (D-New Castle)  to be Majority Whip.
