Mega Millions prize enters mega-jackpot territory

Delawareans can try their luck at scoring a mega lottery jackpot – but this time it’s not Powerball.

With no winner Tuesday night, the current Mega Millions prize is $363 million.  That’s the sixth largest Mega Millions prize ever and tied for the 15th largest lottery jackpots of all-time in the United States.

The next drawing is Friday night.

The biggest lottery jackpot ever - a nearly $1.6 billion Powerball prize – was shared by three winning tickets back in January.  There was also nearly $430 million prize handed out to a single Powerball winner in New Jersey in May.

The largest Mega Millions prize was a $656 million jackpot split by three winning ticket in March 2012.

Delaware has never had a Mega Millions jackpot winner and has not had a Powerball winner since May 2013 when an anonymous ticket holder split a $50 million jackpot.

The odds of matching all 6 numbers in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing are 1 in 258.9 million.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states – including Delaware - as well as the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
