Navarro ousts Weldin Stewart in Ins. Commissioner race

New Castle County Sheriff Trinidad Navarro is the Democratic nominee for state Insurance Commissioner.

He beat two-term incumbent Karen Weldin Stewart by about 6,000 votes in Tuesday’s primary .Navarro is in his second term as county sheriff after unseating unseating Mike Walsh in the 2010 Democratic primary.

Navarro will face Republican Jeff Cragg in November’s General Election.  Cragg narrowly won his Republican primary battle with George Parish by just over 900 votes.
