No Powerball winner, jackpot hits $550 million

Delaware Public Media

There was no winner in Wednesday’s night's Powerball drawing, pushing the jackpot over a half billion dollars.

The jackpot went off at $460 million Wednesday night, but no one matched the winning numbers: 2, 18, 37, 39, 42 and the Powerball 12 .

With no winner again, the prize jumps to $550 million for Saturday’s drawing. That is the 8th biggest jackpot ever in the U.S. and the largest Powerball jackpot since it climbed to nearly 759 million dollars last August

And before that drawing Saturday, a giant MegaMillions jackpot – $418 million - will be up for grabs Friday night. That’s the 16th largest U.S. in history and the 4th largest MegaMillions prize ever.

Delaware is still looking for its first ever MegaMillions jackpot winner. The state’s last Powerball winner came in last December when a winning ticket worth nearly $122 million was sold at a Selbyville gas station.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in 258 million.

The Powerball odds are about one in 292 million.
