Opera Delaware fills the newly created position of Managing Director

The Grand Opera House
Opera Delaware's Spring Festival 2016 will be performed at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington

Opera Delaware has created a new job within the organization but the position is going to a familiar face.

Jason Hardy is Opera Delaware’s new Managing Director. He joined the company in 2013 as Director of Development and Community Engagement.

Under his leadership, the company was awarded more than $600,000 in private foundation support and saw record-breaking levels of individual donations.  In his new role, Hardy will continue to oversee the company's fundraising efforts while taking on new responsibilities in the day-to-day operations of Opera Delaware.

In a statement, the company’s General Director Brendan Cooke said Hardy’s appointment “allows me to work more intimately with our board, our major donors and the opera world at large to ensure Opera Delaware’s future as a major opera festival.”

Opera Delaware's spring 2016 festival will feature performances of two fully staged productions at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington.

This piece is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
