Those traveling up or down Delaware this weekend may have to take a detour, as construction work will close a section of Route 13.
Crews are installing drainage pipes along Route 13 between Hyetts Corner Road and Port Penn Road throughout the weekend.
Truckers are encouraged to use Route 1, while other drivers can follow detours around construction.
Tolls during the weekend on Route 1 typically run $3.00 at Biddles Toll Plaza, but are being kept at the weekday rate of $1.00 during the work.
DelDOT originally planned to use daily lane closures for about three weeks to finish the job, but say this total closure is safer for drivers and workers alike.
The work begins tonight at 7 p.m. and runs through Monday at 5 a.m.
