Sen. Chris Coons (D-Delaware) is looking for answers in the ongoing investigation into possible Russian interference in the last presidential election.
The Senate Judiciary Committee announced it would delay testimony from former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort until September.
Coons - who sits on the committee - said he's got questions ready.
"In the case of Paul Manafort, why he failed to register as a foreign agent given the significant payments he received from Ukrainian interests?" Coons said.
Coons said those payments total around $17 million, from former pro-Russian Ukrainian leadership.
He said Manafort was required to disclose the payments under the Foreign Agent Registration Act.
Manafort was also involved in a meeting with a Russian Lawyer at Trump Tower in New York in June 2016. He has agreed to turn over his notes from that meeting to the Judiciary Committee.
"And what I think we are expecting in September is a broader and fuller conversation, not just about that (Ukrainian payment) registration, but about the meeting in Trump Tower last summer," Coons told NPR's Morning Edition Wednesday.
Coons said there are a “great deal” of unanswered questions swirling around the Trump Administration in this Russia Investigation.
And maybe he’ll get some clarity in September.
