Funeral services have been set for Sgt. Steven Floyd, a correctional officer killed last week in a hostage standoff at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna.
The State of Delaware Department of Correction reports viewing and visitation for Sgt. Floyd will take place between 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Delaware State University Memorial Hall in Dover. Funeral services are to follow.
On Friday, Floyd’s death was ruled a homicide, though officials have not revealed how he died and are still investigating what led to the 18-hour standoff inside the prison.
