State Rep. Outten joins ranks of retiring lawmakers

Delaware House of Representatives

Another lawmaker will leave Legislative Hall for good later this year. State Representative Bobby Outten (R-Harrington) announced Wednesday he will not seek reelection in the 30th District.

Outten is the ninth member of the Delaware General Assembly to bow out this year.

He has represented the Southwest Kent County District since 2004 and is set to complete his seventh term before retiring. Outten serves on six House committees, is a lifetime member of the Harrington Volunteer Fire Company and sits on the Delaware State Fair Board of Directors.

In a statement, Outten said it has been a privilege to represent his constituents, but he now plans to enjoy retirement. Outten turns 70 this year and is married with one son and two grandchildren.
