State senators quickly confirmed seven of Gov. John Carney’s (D) cabinet picks Wednesday evening.
Many are holdovers from the Markell Administration, including Secretary of State Jeff Bullock and Transportation Secretary Jennifer Cohan.
Others served in different high-level roles in state government, like newly minted Finance Secretary Rick Geisenberger, Budget Director Mike Jackson and Commissioner of Corrections Perry Phelps.
Delaware Economic Development Director Bernice Whaley and Secretary of Labor Patrice Gilliam-Johnson are continuing in their roles for an undetermined period of time.
The state senate will host another marathon of confirmation hearings next Wednesday, when they’ll consider eight other cabinet appointees.
