UD tangles with Providence in NCAA soccer tourney

The University of Delaware men’s soccer team hits the field Thursday night for an NCAA tournament contest.

The Blue Hens visit Providence for an opening round game at 7 pm.

Delaware is unranked and making its first NCAA tourney appearance since 2013. UD is 1-4 all-time in tournament games. The Hens only win came back in 2011.

Providence is ranked 22^nd nationally and making its ninth trip to NCAA post-season.

The winner of the UD-Providence contest gets top-ranked Maryland in round two Sunday afternoon.
