UD women ousted from CAA tourney

The University of Delaware is one and done in the Colonial Athletic Association’s women’s basketball tournament at James Madison University.

The Blue Hens fell to William and Mary 59-44 in the CAA  quarterfinals.

The loss is UD’s first ever in the CAA quarterfinals, ending a streak on 13 straight appearances in the semi-final round.

The Hens trailed from start to finish and failed to hit a field goal in the final 5:30 of the game when they were out-scored 10-2.

Erika Brown was one of the few bright spots, scoring 15 points

UD finishes its season with a 16-14 record – their second straight season with 16 wins and the third straight year they’ve failed to reach 20 victories.
