Warm, sunny weather on tap in Delaware

Delaware Public Media

Warm spring weather hits the First State to start the week. Temperatures in the low-80s are in the forecast for Tuesday.

Flowers are starting to bloom and the sun is shining, at least for the first part of this week.

Delaware has a chance to break some heat records in parts of the state. In Dover, the record high for April 11 is 80 degrees, right at Tuesday’s forecast high.

"Anywhere from the Appalachians to the Eastern Seaboard, everyone is kind of enjoying the first real taste of spring,"  The National Weather Service's David Kruzdlow said.

Like most good things, the sunny weather won’t last.

So we’ll have a cold front moving in Tuesday night into Wednesday," said Kruzdlow. "With that the area could see some showers and thunderstorms."

That wet weather won’t cool things down too much. Delaware should still see above normal temperatures in the 60s and even 70s for the rest of the week.
