Delawareans can purchase SEPTA papal day-passes in Wilmington starting Thursday.
The special $10 one day regional rail pass for the upcoming papal visit will be available for sale at DART's Transportation Store at the Wilmington Train Station and will be available weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
With the large number of people expected to attend events during the papal visit, SEPTA will be more than doubling Regional Rail service capacity on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27.
More than 1 million people are expected in Philadelphia, where Pope Francis will attend a world meeting of Roman Catholic families and celebrate an outdoor Mass on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
SEPTA’s express papal service will operate from Wilmington and 18 other stations to Center City Philadelphia.
