Food Bank CEO Patricia Beebe read an article a few years ago about doctors practicing in Appalachia prescribing healthy food instead of pills.  She couldn’t believe the difference it made in people's’ lives, yet it had difficulty finding funders.

2500 Delaware families in need will receive Thanksgiving food baskets on Friday.

The Food Bank of Delaware has collected money, frozen turkeys and other items for their annual “Thanksgiving For All” food drive.

Low-income Delaware families who rely on the Food Bank for their meals often don’t get enough leafy greens and fresh fruit.

So the Food Bank of Delaware is teaming up with local farmers to provide affordable CSA’s, or shares of farmers’ crops, to families in need.
