Calling all artists: The Delaware Contemporary is hosting two new 6x6 events

The Delaware Contemporary
The Delaware Contemporary is hosting two exciting 6x6 events featuring artwork from artists of all ages and stages in their creative evolution.

The Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington is hosting two 6-by-6 events this fall, featuring artwork from artists of all ages and stages in their creative evolution.

The Delaware Contemporary will tap into community talent during those two events.

Delaware Fun-A-Day is a community-centric art project that signs people up to create a different piece of artwork each day on different themes.  The results will be featured at an exhibition October 6-8 at The Delaware Contemporary.

That’s followed by the Saba III fundraiser November 11.  That event will auction off small works of art donated by emerging, mid-career and seasoned artists, as well as students and local celebrities.

"It's a great opportunity to view artwork from all - a wide-variety of artists. It's more of a community-angled event with less of a focus on established-career art," said Tatiana Michels, Marketing Manager at The Delaware Contemporary. "So, it's fun for people to come and see the variety of what people in Delaware are producing from a creative standpoint."

The Delaware Contemporary is closed on Mondays; Tuesday and Sunday hours are noon to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays it’s open noon to 7 p.m. and Thursday’s, Fridays and Saturdays The Delaware Contemporary is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is wheelchair accessible; visitors with special needs are asked to call in advance.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
