Coming Soon: Hagley's February after hours film series

The Hagley Museum in Wilmington is inviting people to question their reality and choose the red or blue pill during its new film series. The museum is showing the sci-fi action flick The Matrix along with the cult classic Mean Girls, and '80s favorite The Breakfast Club as part of “Hagley After Hours: A Night at the Movies."

Marketing Manager Jessica Eisenbrey  hopes people will dress up for the events.

"So we encourage (people) to wear pink to the Mean Girls showing, to wear their favorite sci-fi shirt or accessory to The Matrix showing, and also wear '80s clothing to The Breakfast Club showing," Eisenbrey said.

Mean Girls premieres at Hagley Feb. 9, followed by The Matrix on Feb. 20.

Each movie will be preceded by the screening of a short film from Hagley's collection.

The museum is partnering with the Sunday Breakfast Mission for the showing of The Breakfast Club on March 9, and encourages people to bring nonperishable food items for donation.
