Felton jazz trio takes the stage at Old State House

The Old State House in Dover is hosting a jazz trio Dec. 9 as part of the Friends of Folk Concert Series.

Felton’s own Joe Baione Trio will grace the stage at the historic Capitol building.

Historic Site Supervisor Nena Todd said the band will actually play in the middle of an 18th century court room.

"Because the acoustics are so wonderful we have found that musicians just absolutely love it," Todd said.

The Joe Baione Trio uses a vibraphone in their music, a jazz instrument that resembles a xylophone.

The performance is part of the ongoing Friends of Folk Series that holds concerts monthly at the Old State House.

The series next welcomes Celtic and maritime musician Charlie Zahm on January 13.

Delaware Public Media' s arts coverage is made possible, in part, by support from theDelaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
