Delaware drivers are getting some relief at the gas pump, but it may be short-lived.
AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average cost of a gallon of regular statewide stands at $2.43. That’s down 2 cents from a week ago, and nearly 10 cents over the past month.
And Delawaregasprices.com reports over a dozen stations are charging $2.31 or less, all in New Castle County.
But AAA says while declining demand pushes prices down for now, it expects motorists could pay 20-30 cents more this spring once refinery maintenance wraps up and the switch is made to summer-blend gasoline.
The average cost of gas a gallon of regular nationally currently sits at $2.53, up a penny from last week.
