Gas prices in Delaware continue month-long decline

Delaware Public Media

More good news for First State motorists Delaware at the gas pump last week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average cost of a gallon of regular fell another 4 cents over the past seven days – from $2.22 to $2.18.

That’s the fourth straight week drivers have seen prices drop, and they’ve rolled back 22 in that one month span.

Delawaregasprices.com reports nearly a dozen stations are charging $2.08 or less – mainly in New Castle and Newark.

AAA says increased U.S. crude oil production combined with lower demand is pushing the price lower – though it’s still significantly higher than a year ago at this time when the average here in the First State was just $1.76.

The national average also dropped last week, slipping three cents from $2.31 to $2.28.
