Gas prices rising as November begins

Delaware Public Media

Delaware drivers are digging deeper into their wallets when their fill their gas tanks.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price for a gallon of regular Sunday was $2.41 – up four cents from last week and 16 higher than three weeks ago.

Gas prices usually trend downward at this time of year.  AAA blames the increase on tightening gasoline inventories caused by above average demand and a recent uptick in exports.

First State prices are still the lowest in the region, cheaper that Philadelphia, South Jersey and Maryland.  And Delaware gas prices-dot com reports there are a dozen stations selling a gallon of regular for $2.33 or less.

The national average currently stands at $2.53, up six cents over the past week.
