Guardians of the Image Makers is a new exhibit opening soon at the Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington.

There’s a new exhibition opening soon at the Delaware Contemporary.

Guardians of the Image Makers features select Delaware area artists paying tribute to Percy Ricks.

“Guardians of the Image Makers is an exhibition that is paying to Percy Ricks, who himself passed away in 2008. He was the founder of Aesthetic Dynamics Inc., and also was an activist, an artist and an art educator,” said Delaware Contemporary executive director Dr. Joseph Gonzales.

The exhibition, which opens on April 6th, joins the citywide Wilmington 1968 series remembering the riots and subsequent National Guard occupation in Wilmington.

“Guardians of the Image Makers is part of the larger Wilmington 1968 series that you will see across different arts and cultural and educational organizations happening this year - 1968 - to remember the 1968 occupation and riots,” said Gonzales.

You can learn more about the Guardians of the Image Makers exhibit at The Delaware Contemporary’s website.
