Hundreds of political signs stolen in New Castle County

The Delaware State Police say over 400 campaign signs were stolen throughout New Castle County over the weekend.

State Police Corporal Jeffery Hale said the investigation is ongoing, but this was not the first time signs have been taken.

“So far this year we’ve had a few. Not to this extent, but we’ve had a few reported to us. It happens during the political season. I guess everybody wants their name out front,” Hale said.

The police did not reveal which campaign's signs were stolen, but Karen Hartley-Nagle, a candidate for New Castle County President, claimed to have 400 or so signs stolen in that same time frame.

Her campaign is offering a reward for information that leads to a conviction of anyone stealing the candidate's signs.
